Leading insurer Prudential has launched its 2015 apprenticeship programme, which will create opportunities for up to 40 young people across three UK locations.
The FTSE 100 company has committed to investing £4.1 million in its apprenticeship programme over a four year period to help young people get their foot on the career ladder. The programme offers placements in a wide range of roles across the company, including within its IT, HR, customer services, operations, sales support, distribution, financial planning and marketing departments. Positions are available in Prudential’s London, Reading and Stirling offices.
Over the last two years Prudential has recruited 90 young people to its high quality, work-based training programme, which gives all apprentices the opportunity to gain important work-based skills and achieve a recognised vocational and professional qualifications. This year, the programme is based on a 16 month training contract, with all apprentices earning the national living wage as a minimum.
Two thirds (66 per cent) of Prudential apprentices who completed the programme in 2014 were offered an ongoing position with the company, while others chose to continue their career elsewhere or go on to higher education.
The programme, which has been developed in with the help of National Apprenticeship Service (NAS), will be advertised on www.gov.uk/further-education-skills/apprenticeships and http://www.apprenticeshipsinscotland.com/. The company will be accepting applications during April.

Some of the young people who join the programme will only be with us for 16 months but during that time we aim to set them up with life-skills and a qualification to help them pursue a successful career, wherever they choose.”
