Gradcracker V3 launch and Careers Guide update

Gradcracker.com, the careers website for engineering students, has been completely redeveloped for the start of the new academic year with particular changes to the video gallery and search facility.

Gradcracker said. ‘The website was brimming with video content but it could only be found within individual company microsites. We are showcasing this content at an earlier, higher level of the site and our engineering students are now provided with a preview of the subject matter to help them decide which videos are most relevant to them. Gradcracker can also report to advertisers on the number of times each video is viewed.

The search facility has been enhanced with a ‘sector search’ option which can be combined with the existing ‘engineering discipline search’ feature. This change has been introduced because there are more job opportunities and career paths out there than a student might imagine – this should open their eyes to new, previously unconsidered sectors.’

Gradcracker also reports that their summer publication, ‘the pocket careers guide for engineering students’, is already in its second edition. The guide is sent out to University Careers Advisors only on request but the initial print run of 10,000 was exhausted within two weeks of publication. The second edition’s 25,000 print run was sponsored by BP, Cundall, Mott MacDonald and Thales. Continuing high demand leads Gradcracker to anticipate printing a third edition before Christmas.
