Career Forums launch their successful careers event formula online

Career Forums, the UK’s leading retail and hospitality recruitment event organiser will be launching the inaugural Virtual Career Forums On May 18th 2010

Career Forums, the UK’s leading retail and hospitality recruitment event organiser will be launching the inaugural Virtual Career Forums On May 18th 2010.

For the last 5 years Career Forums have been uniting thousands of professionals with top name retail and hospitality companies, at their live events across the UK and Ireland. The two day recruitment events are aimed at helping retail and hospitality professionals to progress in their career.

The new virtual venture brings together Career Forums’ five years of experience at the forefront of retail and hospitality recruitment, with the flexibility and targeting that an online career event provides. Exhibitors will be able to interact with active jobseekers throughout the UK (and potentially beyond) via online chat, video chat and email. Similarly, companies can staff the fair from the comfort of their normal workspace, rather than having contingents of promo material-laden recruitment personnel out of the office for a couple of days. Exhibitors have the added advantage of a pre-screening registration process, ensuring access to only the best quality candidates

Adam Tomkinson, Event Director of Career Forums said; “We are really excited about taking the Career Forums model to the virtual platform. This is something we have been thinking about for a number of years, it has always seemed like the next logical step for Career Forums but the moment was never quite right. Either the technology available lacked the sophistication to deliver the right user experience or the market conditions were unsuitable. But now we believe the time is right on all counts.”

Exhibitors so far include Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury’s, Mothercare, BP, Habitat, House of Fraser, Superdrug, Pizza Hut and Zizzi Restaurants.

Kay Jones-Wolsey, Group Head of Recruitment at Marks & Spencer adds At M&S we are always looking for new and innovative ways to source talented retail professionals and therefore we're very excited to be participating in Virtual Career Forums. Being able to interact with candidates from all over the country, to discuss and recruit for the range of opportunities across our entire portfolio, all from one event without any of our team members having to leave the office is a fantastic concept.
