Thorntons expands its team with four new solicitors

Leading Scottish law firm Thorntons has increased its head count with the appointment of four newly-qualified solicitors. All four have recently completed two-year traineeships with the firm.

The four new solicitors are Craig Edward, who joins the Corporate Team, Vincent Chung, who will work with the Immigration team, and Megan Sweeney, who will join the Private Client team in Dundee. Chris Gardiner will join the Private Client team in St Andrews.

Newly qualified solicitor, Vincent Chung, said: “I knew that Thorntons had a strong reputation within the legal profession when I first began my traineeship and this has certainly been the case.

“The experience within Thorntons has been outstanding. It has certainly been hard work and extremely challenging, but I’ve really enjoyed it and I’m very much looking forward to beginning my career as a fully qualified solicitor.

“As Thorntons is a full service firm, I have had the opportunity to work across a variety of areas of the law.  This has been invaluable in terms of developing not only legal skills but also client handling and time management.”

Craig Nicol, Joint Managing Partner at Thorntons, said: “It’s vital for any business to invest in the development its own talent and that is why we have built such a comprehensive training scheme over many years.

“Vincent, Megan, Craig and Chris represent the future of our firm. They are the latest in a long line of top-quality solicitors who have joined us initially as trainees and then secured full-time positions within the firm.

“We will continue to invest in our training scheme as demand for our services grows and I have no doubt that the cream of the crop will continue to choose to come and work with Thorntons.”
