Jayne Hambling, Head of Quality and Risk Management at Meridian Business Support was recently appointed to the Recruitment & Employment Confederation’s (REC), the largest trade body for recruiters, Professional Standard Committee (PSC).

The PSC is a professional body that considers serious breaches of REC’s Code of Practice, following complaints about REC members’ practices and service to the REC, or where businesses fail to achieve the minimum requirements set by their compliance tests.

The PSC is made up of corporate and individual members of REC as well as representatives from the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC). The PSC has full powers to investigate complaints against members and issue sanctions.

Jayne is delighted to have been given this opportunity, on her appointment she says  “The emphasis of the committee is wherever possible to give organisations the opportunity to identify and remedy breaches of the Code of Practice and review their practices and to drive improvement. This can only benefit the reputation of other REC members and the recruitment industry as a whole.”

Jayne’s appointment to the PSC reinforces Meridian’s commitment to raising standards within the industry and also underpins it’s commitment to the ongoing development of their employees both inside and outside of the business.
