Chief Executive Officer appointed to First4Skills

National training organisation First4Skills, based in Liverpool, has announced the appointment of Sue Price as the new Chief Executive Officer

National training organisation First4Skills, based in Liverpool, has announced the appointment of Sue Price as the new Chief Executive Officer.

Sue Price is currently the North West Director for Employer and Provider Services for the Skills Funding Agency.   She is committed to creating opportunities to drive up Apprenticeship growth nationally, to respond to employer needs and deliver responsive high quality provision.

Sue’s experience in the sector has been shaped by her previous roles as the Northern Divisional Director for the National Apprenticeship Service from 2009 to 2013 and before that as a Partnership Director for the Learning and Skills Council from 2002 to 2009.

Sue will be taking up her post on 19 May 2014 and will be based at First4Skills head office at Princes Dock in Liverpool.

She said: “I am thrilled to be joining such a dynamic, high quality training provider.  I am aware of many of the challenges and opportunities we face in a changing sector and very much look forward to meeting everyone and hearing your views on how we can make First4Skills the number one choice for employers and meet the demands placed on us by government.”

The City of Liverpool College became the majority owner of First4Skills in September 2012 and in a unique partnership, has been growing and developing the training organisation over the last year.  Elaine Bowker, CEO of the City of Liverpool College said: "Sue's experience, knowledge and skills will be a huge asset to the team at First4Skills and she will be taking the helm in a key time, as we implement our expansion plans and use the joint strengths of both the college and First4Skills to cement the organisation's place as the leading training provider in the UK.  Her appointment demonstrates our commitment to develop and grow the First4Skills business as a key part of the wider college group."
